Why do some endocrine conditions require several specialists?

Complex endocrine disorders may affect multiple organs and may require coordinated care between endocrinologists, surgeons, geneticists, radiologists, nuclear medicine specialists, ophthalmologists, cardiologists, nephrologists or other specialists.

What is a multidisciplinary team?

It is a group of specialists who work together to diagnose and manage complex conditions.

Does complex endocrine disease always require surgery?

No. Some conditions are treated primarily with medication, while others may require surgery, radiotherapy or a combination of treatments.

Why is long-term follow-up important?

Some endocrine disorders require lifelong monitoring because hormone levels, tumour behaviour, bone health or metabolic risks can change over time.
