What is anti-TPO?

Anti-thyroid peroxidase antibodies are commonly associated with autoimmune thyroid disease, particularly Hashimoto thyroiditis.

What is TRAb?

TSH receptor antibodies can support the diagnosis of Graves disease.

Does a positive thyroid antibody mean I definitely have thyroid disease?

Not necessarily.

Antibodies provide information about autoimmune activity but need to be interpreted along with thyroid function and clinical findings.

Do thyroid antibodies need to be checked repeatedly?

Usually, treatment decisions are based more on thyroid function and clinical status than on repeatedly measuring antibody levels.
